[Take a look at the article link I’ve attached for the reference point of what spurred me to write this blip.]
If you’re feeling discouraged or anxious I hope this brings you some comfort. Yes, we all have to do our part and hold fast; be encouraged, the good in/of humanity is already fighting its way to the surface in the midst of all of this. A a silver lining exists!
On to my actual note...
Fact 1:
I’m a pragmatic, logic/fact driven woman
Fact 2:
I’m also a faith filled, God-following, Holy Spirit-led woman.
So, as I look at/read many “scientific” & “data” driven articles, I’m sorting thru and doing my best to fact-check the few articles I can stomach reading.
I really appreciated the candor of this article (yes, like all the others a filter is required!). I could rely solely on the science and place my trust in the educated, experienced information presented, that “in 12-18 months” there will most likely be a vaccine. [And I am not knocking that; hallelujah for when that occurs!] And by that point in time we will have enough “immune” in our society to go back out and resume “normal life“ sooner than that.
BUT...
Wouldn’t it be amazing if with a collective, unified, continuous stream of prayer, we instead receive a miraculous outpouring from Heaven?
I believe that while God is righteous, He is also merciful. I believe that He can’t ignore the cry of His people, His children.
I also know that there are times where, for whatever reason (something beyond my finite capacity of comprehension!), He remains silent.
Either way -
Stir your faith up, let hope rise within you! We are resilient and stronger than we give ourselves credit for. We are capable of and designed for community! The proof is in the pudding - our healthcare workers, store clerks, teachers, volunteers, stay at home parents (new & veterans), counselors/psychologists, daycare workers, mail carriers, waste management, and all the rest in between. Newfound appreciation has been developed. Communities are doing what they can to support small business owners. People are finding ways to encourage others (grocery shopping for the vulnerable, 3D printing masks for hospitals, using social media to stay in touch, and I could go on.
Right now things look like they’re getting worse, and let’s be real, they are. But once you hit the bottom, there’s only one place to go...
Be encouraged by the community around you. Take heart that “this too shall pass”.
And if you don’t have it in you to do that, I will stand in the gap for you, because we all deserve to have “a bright Hope for a tomorrow.“
