Hello Self,

As I'm typing, I'm waiting for a big juicy burger and a foaming beer. It's Good Friday, Easter weekend is upon me, and I needed a "treat-yourself" moment (thank you lovely client for a wonderfully generous gift card). I foolishly thought that life and time would slow down once the choir season was over...I am laughing at myself now. Time stands still for no woman, schedules are quickly filled when a gap is created, and alas that is life. And I have become drastically aware of how exhausted I am feeling (aka I need to schedule a vacay ASAP, and I need Mr. Sun to come back out).

Anyway, I was scanning through instagram the other day when something caught my attention, "The secret of your future is in your hidden daily routine." Talk about a "good" sucker punch! I know, for a fact, that I've become complacent in my daily routine. Often I hear myself saying that, "I'm too tired", "I don't have time", or "I'm too busy!" Here's the thing though - I do have time and I am in control of what I give my time to. It's spring. This is a time for new growth, birth, rejuvenation, whatever you want to call it. I am tired of being in the same place, not going anywhere and feeling like I've lost my sense of direction. My compass needs to be reset. I am ready for God to bring clarity back into my scope.

Soooooo, how do I develop healthier and more positive change, managing the time I've been given well, AND still enjoy life? I'm still working on that. *See current plan below.

*Between a prompting from the Holy Spirit and the result of needing a reset, I will be entering into a Daniel Fast on Monday. Here's what I hope to have happen during the next 21 days:

1) Draw closer to the Father (duh!)

2) Gain some insight into things that I have given my time to that I can cut out.

3) Get a sense of direction from Him as to "what's next".

4) Cleanse my body of some of the crap I've been sandwiching in between the "healthy" (this is applicable on so many levels!).

P.S.

While writing this, I ate my delish-simple burger, at a swanky restaurant, and feel AMAZING. Please take yourself out to lunch every once in a while. It's a great time for checking in with 'you' and presents an opportunity reacquaint you with you.

PPS

I completely forgot to post this...it has now been 4 days since I've begun my Daniel Fast....
