Many moons ago I started a blog based on my international travels, christened it "Going Somewhere", and post-grad neglected that blog-child. My goal with this baby - to not only keep this her alive, but to post relevant and real thoughts.
I am a a young-professional, Christian, single woman. Independently, those descriptives aren't anything 'unusual', but combined often causes a bit of discombobulation for others and their thought process. I wish I could say why...
For example: I moved from SoFlo to the midwest 2 years ago this November. Talk about feeling like a fish out of water! I went from being among the many single professionals living their life, to the midwest, where being nearly 30 and single often results in many uncomfortable questions. Within the church setting, I'm in a population that is often (& unfortunately) overlooked. No one knows what to do with us!
One of my goals with this forum, is to encourage others that may be in a similar boat. I feel like that is something single, professional women don't often get. I am content with my life. I love being free to travel (w/my pup when possible!). To be perfectly candid, I love that I am not responsible for the well-being of little ones or a husband. I'm still figuring out how to be a grown-up, and that's a lot easier to do when you're only responsible for a party of 1. Who knows what lies ahead, but I'm always up for an adventure (or 2...or 3).
Now, this will not always be "single lady stuff". I love to travel. I'm a musician. I LOVE to cook and try new restaurants in my area. I recently moved into my own home and have done a few DIY projects there. This space will also celebrate and share those moments and passions of mine.
Join me as I try to adult "well".
